Can I get someone to look at my home to advise the best solution to my plumbing/heating needs? 

Yes!  All you need to do is ring or call in to the showroom to arrange a suitable time.

Can I get a fire installed without a council consent? 

No.  This is simply not allowed under the Building Act. 

How soon will my fire be installed? 

Our most frequent question!  Unfortunately, unlike a heat pump or gas fire, we cannot sell a fire one day and install it the next as we have to obtain council permits.  The current permit/consent process is lengthy, complicated and full of red tape.  Once we have the paperwork in order (a service we provide) the councils can, and usually do take 20 working days to process.  Therefore, we aim for approx three weeks from confirmation to installation.  In the middle of winter, we can struggle to keep this up.  We sometimes get confirmation of a month’s work in two days after a weekend cold snap in April and having a limited number of skilled tradesmen can only do jobs asap.  Good communication is important and, as much as humanly possible, we keep to dates we give.

Are logfires going to be outlawed/banned? 

Contrary to what many trying to sell pellet fires and heat pumps are telling people, logfires are NOT going to be banned.  Any new logfire that is installed must comply with the current clean air legislation.  Numerous logfires comply.  If all logfires were banned, New Zealand would not have the energy to replace them with alternative products.  And why would a product that is clean burning, cheap, and uses a renewable energy resource ever be banned?
