Q: How long does a new install take.
A: This may vary (requires a permit from the local council, this can take 20 working days at least), we aim to install within 5-6 weeks from the deposit received (dependent on stock availability).
Q: Will you the (agent) apply for permit
A: Yes unless a permit has already been taken out for other works to the property
Q: Which Fires can I have in town (urban areas) and Rural areas
A: In town (urban areas) can only have a clean air burner (fire will not shut down over night) VS Rural fires (overnight burners) can be installed in properties over 2hectares or more (no less)
Q: How often should I have my chimney cleaned.
A: If you are using your woodburner every year. You need your chimney swept every year
Q: Do you have access to other woodburners that are not in your show room
A: Yes
Q: Do you service pellet fires or diesel heaters
A: No
Q: Do you clean the chimney from inside or outside.
A: We clean chimneys from the outside as the cowling needs to be removed otherwise it will block up with creasote
Q: Do you need to Book for a sweep.
A: Yes, sweeps are booked in, you also cannot use the fireplace the night before (fire must be cold), Due to Health and Safety requirements, sweeps are also weather dependent.
Q: What Qualification do the installers have, Why choose The Heat Shop?
A: The Heat Shop is a member of the NZHHA, and our staff complete regular training, and are Certified SFAIT and SFAST. The Heat Shop also has Public Liability Insurance and stand by the quality of their work.
